Despite once again having the COVID-19 restrictions to contend with the people of Carstairs Village still had an enjoyable Gala day with their stay at home celebrations. Having no Gala Court or Crowning Ceremony this year was a more subdued affair, however that didnt dampen the spirits of many and everyone had a great time. An excellent turnout of bunting lined our streets and added some much needed colour and splendour to what has been some depressing times of late. It was great to see a super turnout at the doorsteps while our Gala trailer toured the village playing the traditional Gala Day pipe band music. The committee would like to thank all the residents of village for supporting our Virtual Gala Week. The level of participation for all our competitions was exceptional and our Doorstep Disco was enjoyed by all. The excellent turnout was a great show of support for those P7 Leavers who missed out on their chance of being part of the Gala Court, we wish them well in their quest for knowledge at Lanark Grammar School in the coming years.
